Welcome to the Medix Hotel, Restaurant and Bar of gorgeous Elk Country,
Pennsylvania. Our location in the Pennsylvania Mountains offers fun
for the whole family-hiking, biking and cross country ski trails, canoeing,
river tubing, fishing, hunting, bird watching and wildlife viewing,
antique shops, winery tours, golf courses, craft stores, fairs and festivals.
We have it all, surrounded by the beautiful Pennsylvania scenery.
Also, for all you Elk enthusiasts, this is the place to be. The Elk's
yearly cycle begins in March, when the stately bulls begin to shed their
antlers. In late spring and early summer, the adorable elk calves begin
to drop. July brings the cows and calves out for viewing, while the
bulls roam the forest with velvet-coated antlers. The elk are out in
full force in August since the bulls must feed well to build up their
strength for the coming rut. September and October see the bulls competing
for partners. One can occasionally spot competing bulls fighting and
their poignant bugle echoes through the valleys. The breeding season
guarantees next year's crop of calves in the spring.
The Medix Hotel is a one-stop location for comfortable beds, great
food, drinks and good company convenient to Elk Country's attractions.
Have a look around, and we hope to see you here in Elk Country soon!
